What Is The Grandfather Generation |
|
. There are at least four generations of human beings living today. Each generation holds its own basic view of the world, a view that was installed into the minds of the people of that generation when they were little children. The beliefs listed below are about the overall general patterns of the generation that now dominates the planet. We refer to this group as the Grandfather Generation. We focus on the Grandfather Generation because their beliefs set the context of present day human life. Their beliefs dominate the the lives of every single one of us. The patterns listed below are generalities. There are numerous patterns not included in this list. Individuals will vary from the group pattern. Although widely held as if they were the truth, none of the Grandfather Generation beliefs listed below are supported by the evidence. Several of them are strongly contradicted by the evidence. But, please don't believe me, and don't disbelieve me either. Make us prove the statements below are accurate,² and make the other side prove theirs as well. Let's be guided by the evidence. The mass consciousness of the era into which these people were born and in which they experienced the first few years of life was the financial and economic misery of Great Depression of the 1930's and/or the violence and mass murder of WWII. The energy of that era, dominates their beliefs and their behavior. We point this out the beliefs and behaviors below, not to make anybody wrong, but rather to say, "this is what is." Is it working for you? Do you want more of what is? If not, we offer some possible alternatives. .

What Are Its Beliefs and Programs |
|
. The characteristics listed below are the dominant patterns of The Grandfather Generation
. The belief in separation from Creator/God is the biggest and most destructive illusion of all time. Two parallel illusions go hand in hand with this one:
.
. The latest scientific evidence points overwhelmingly to the conclusion that everything and everyone is intimately interconnected. The belief in separation leads to still more serious illusions:.
. .
. The evidence indicates that everything is intimately connected to everything else, that everything is part of a unified, interdependent whole, that every action alters the the entire system. Chief Seattle - The Web of Life ²
. The overwhelming evidence indicates that the Earth is a closed system -- that everything is recycled. Activities which appear to be open ended are actually portions of closed cycles. The evidence clearly indicates that everything moves in spirals, and in cycles. Human actions commonly return to their source in one form or another. The evidence indicates that every result is actually a cause in the next round. Life on Earth is a closed system. Everything affects everything else. From the cosmic / spiritual perspective everything is a part of a grand, unified whole.
. .
. The evidence clearly exposes that racial superiority is false. Differences come from culture, education, tradition, beliefs, attitudes, et cetera. .
. .
. .
. .
. .
. The evidence tell us that violence does not solve problems. It makes things worse. Your are invited to read two quotes for R. Buckminster Fuller.² .

. .
. .
. .
. .
. The evidence indicates that we are all normal, and at the same time, we are all strange. As the old saying goes, "There is nothing unique about being unique." .
. .
. With regard to religious beliefs, those in the Grandfather Generation pretty much divide themselves into two divergent groups with only a small minority in between. One faction believes that what their parents taught them must be true. These are the mindless true believers in this or that religion. These people's lives are run by dozens of unprovable stories -- stories such God is an angry, fickle, vindictive, superhuman being who lives in the sky above the clouds of planet Earth -- stories such as God's Instantaneous, Supernatural, Transcendental, Conception Magic Act.² At the other end of this belief pattern are those who reject organized religion as "the opiate of the masses." They deny the existence of a Creator. They believe that this one life here on Earth is all there is to human existence. They may actually participate in a religion but they do so for reasons other than to connect to God. Also many profess to be religious but act as if atheism were the true assumption. .
. Most of those in the Grandfather Generation reject the views of a relatively small minority of their generation that acknowledges Universal Spirituality. ² These who acknowledge Universal Spirituality believe that an infinite, unknown, consciousness is the source of the universe. When one examines the above illusions, it becomes obvious why the world is in such critical condition. . |

So How Does This Relate to Anything? |
|
. It relates to everything because these beliefs are the boxes, the forms, the ground of being, the mental context, within which those in the Grandfather Generation live their lives. They also run the world as if their assumptions were true. Like all the rest of us, the programming that entered their minds during the first few years of life dominates their consciousness for the remainder of their lives. These beliefs are producing destructive and dysfunctional behavior patterns such as the Economic insanity of "Resident" Bush and Global Climate Change. . |

Stepping Out of this Mess |
|
. . It's unlikely that the Grandfather Generation will be able to solve the present problems. Why? Because: "You can't solve a problem with the same tools you used to create it." "You can't solve a problem with the same mindset that created it." It's probably also true that those who created the problems aren't likely to be the ones who fix them. Because the world is being destroyed by activities based on the above-listed, false beliefs, it's imperative that we replace the political leaders who hold the Grandfather Generation beliefs. Human survival is a stake.² The links below to TLC-Life-Center websites will show you places to look for major tools for change and how to make major steps in the direction of cooperation, harmony and financial stability.
