What Is the Religion Reality Forum?

It's a coalition of people who are dedicated to creating a pubic forum focused on finding and sharing with the public as much evidence as possible, or the lack of evidence about:

   The vast number of conflicting religious beliefs

   The conflicts created by religious beliefs

   The environmental destruction produced by those who live by unprovable beliefs about the nature of reality.    

Step one in any discussion of this nature is to define our terms.    For example, when you say "God," to what are you referring?  ---   Is it a separate, out-there-somewhere,  superhuman being,   is it the ultimate source of all that is of which we, as humans are in integral part,  or is it  _________You fill in the blank_________?

Even though Creator/God/Source is, at  this time in our history,  unknown and unknowable, what clues are available that might assist us in finding out about  our relationship to Creator/God/Source?   Here is a small sample of the beliefs about which we are posting the available evidence (or the indications of the lack of evidence), and about which we are seeking additional evidence. 

   What does the evidence tells us about the nature of a human being.   

   Are we our physical bodies?   

   Are we non-physical beings experiencing life in physical bodies.

   Were human beings created at conception or at some other "time?"

   And dozens of other unanswerable or seemingly unanswerable questions.

Ask yourself these question:  

   Do my beliefs about reality match what the evidence tells us is most likely the truth about reality?   

   Is life what I've been led to believe it is by those who claim to know?   

   Have I ever been wrong?   

   While I was being wrong, did I know I was being wrong?   

   Is it possible that I might be wrong about something right now?

   Am I making any critical, irreversible, life-altering decisions based on false, incomplete, and/or intentionally deceptive information.   

   Is it possible to get objective information from someone whose livelihood is dependent upon what you believe?

What Are The Forum's Goals 

Seeking the Truth:

Because there is no such thing as an objective observer, we are intending to provide all sides of all controversial issues that are related to religious beliefs.

Humans hold dozens of major conflicting beliefs  -- beliefs that are claimed by their promoters to the absolute truth.   We are simply asking these promoters to produce evidence supporting those beliefs.    

Presenting the Evidence:   

We intend to take each of the major, conflict-producing,  religious  beliefs and present the evidence on all sides of each belief.

Presenting the Arguments for All Sides:   

We intend to take each of the major religious  beliefs and  offer arguments for and against each position and a rebuttals to each argument.   This is similar in content to what one receives prior to political elections about ballot initiatives.  

Questions:   

We will ask:  Which position or positions are supported by the evidence?   Which commonly held beliefs have no evidence to support them.    Which commonly held beliefs are strongly conflicted by the evidence.    How can we create consensus on these issues?  How do these beliefs impact human behavior?  How can we lesson the impact on those who will be hurt by the consensus-focused solution?

The Voter's Tally:   

We will ask the public to vote on the probable reality of each issue.   The vote tally will be posted on our website for each issue.
